Evolve Owner/ Personal Trainer
There are many tough questions we must ask ourselves when faced with challenges. While I can't solve all of your life's problems, I can certainly help to simplify the fitness process.
With over 30,000 hours of gym experience, I have just about seen it all, and most of it twice. I have certifications from the American Council on Exercise (Personal Trainer,1997; Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant, 1998), USA Track & Field (Coach, 2004), and The National Academy of Sports Medicine (Personal Trainer, 2010; Corrective Exercise Specialist, 2012).
Over the past 12 years I have
trained clients in every
classification. Whether it's people that are new
to exercise, or men and women competing in the Ironman Triathlon Series, I have worked with them all. My
oldest client has been a 94 year old World War II veteran, and my youngest to date was a 6 year old T-ball
phenom. From my experiences in life and
athletics, I feel at home working with anyone.
My specialty is anything running related. Whether it's running speed for sports,
running mechanics, injury prevention, or running efficiency I get excited for
it all. I've never met a runner I didn't like, or a problem that couldn't be
I have a tremendous passion for the artful science called personal training, where trainer and client form a successful team with a common goal. I am enriched daily by the people I encounter and wouldn't want any other profession."If not me, then who? If not here, then where? If not now, then when? "

I have been helping Chicagoans reach their individual fitness goals since 2004. I enjoy the fact that everybody has unique needs. One session I might be using plyometrics and jumping around with lots of movements, and the next hour I might be using isometrics( little to no movement), and the next person I train might need both! This variety is what keeps me in the classroom to continue my education in the field and what gets me up in the morning. I owe it to my clients to stay on the cutting edge of the fitness industry and to create a clear path to what will benefit you the most. The end result is a well rounded, safe, solid, and effective path to help you reach your personal goals.
My passion began when I was about 6. I can remember my doctor’s advice, that I shouldn't start using weights until I turned 8 years old. Now don’t laugh, but I can remember a Hulk Hogan workout set I got for Christmas when I turned 8. It came with a hand gripper, jump rope, 2 dumbbells, and a tape to take me through a 30 min workout. I loved it!. A few years later other parents took notice that I could run circles around their own kids that where my age. A parent asked me to help his son exercise. I understood then, at 12 years old, that getting another person to be able to do what I could do was a challenge. I could do 40 or more military presses standing on my head, so is that what he wants? How do I help him? Is that his goal? Is it safe for him to try? By the time high school came I had standing clients in the weight room of our school, and even had an abs class in my parents basement! I studied A.C.E and A.F.A.A. in high school and started taking workshops as soon as I was 18. The questions started young and I have come a long way since then. I have not lost that very same interest with every client I have the privilege to work with. Whether you are a professional athlete, have never worked out a day in your life, or are somewhere in-between, I will focus on your exact needs. Now let’s get started!

For as long as she can remember, Sarah has always been active. She grew up studying ballet and modern dance in Michigan. Upon graduating from the University of Michigan with degrees in Dance (BFA) and Psychology (BA), she moved to Chicago to accept a full dance scholarship offered to her from the Lou Conte Dance Studio/Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Professionally, she has performed in Thodos Dance Chicago’s New Dances Series and as a River North Chicago Dance Summer Apprentice.
While continuing to dance around the city, Sarah turned to other forms of exercise to stay in shape. She began practicing yoga and Pilates on a regular basis. She realized she had a passion for fitness that she wanted to share with others, so she became a NASM-certified personal trainer and women’s fitness specialist. Aside from personal training, she also teaches indoor cycling and TRX Suspension Training classes. In her free time, she enjoys golfing, reading, and downhill skiing. Sarah is excited to share her love of fitness with the Evolve clients!

I began working in the industry over 10 years ago and had no idea how much fitness would end up meaning to me. In 2006 I was involved in a traumatic car accident-breaking five ribs, three back vertebrae, two neck vertebrae, my foot, lacerated my liver, punctured my lung, and had a pulmonary embolism-resulting in an infection, destroying my right lung. I was told I would never walk without serious impairment in my gait, and function with less than half the wind capacity of an average adult. I took this as a starting point, and anything but a final destination. Through rehabilitation I found one could work toward any destination. I have had the unique opportunity to experience how vulnerable and strong the human body is. Health and wellness are central to my being and I strive to help others find the same enthusiasm.
